Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
Alex - You'd keep Randolph over Adrian?

I think Randolph may be more happy to warm the bench, and cover for cup games and injuries than Adrian, but as someone said, they might both want out.

Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
I think it's a good deal for a year. Hart has plenty to play for. It enables us to move on one of the other keepers, preferably Adrian. We have a year to think about longer term options for the role.

Not sure why an option to buy makes any difference. Guarantees nothing, at the end of the season the player will decide where he wants to go regardless of any option

Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
So if he has a decent season and is happy here, he may wish to stay permanently, we'd be happy to keep him I presume, but City could just flog him to the highest bidder??

That's a bit dumb. Even by our standards.

Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
I thought it was a stupid transfer to begin with, got my head round it now he's joined only to find that if he has a great season we have very little chance of keeping him, all the while passing off our former main keeper who'll be now looking for another club. fucking amateur, clueless, cheapskate cunts

I'll confess I know a little bit about Hart.

Like many of you know, I know why Man City signed him and paid him so well - he was the best English Keeper by a mile at the time.

I also know why Guardiola wanted him out before he joined City.

This doesn't make him a bad player or a bad bloke, just that he has a taint, he is damaged goods and its worth remembering. He is still a fantastic player IF his head is sorted.

Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
If this is true, this is the most short termism decision yet by the owners - there must be someone lurking the the background for us to go season to season. As things stand they are basically alienating our best keeper (after forcing him to sign a new contract) so he will leave - we will then be faced with either losing our probably player of the year (if he plays to potential) or making a goalkeeper our highest paid player of all time. The only winner here is Joe Hart. Insane decision by the owners, though i guess it's to be expected from a management team who insist there is no future in a youth team.

Surely we have agreed an option to buy? Otherwise this goes from a great signing to absolutely ridiculous - has it been confirmed that we don't have first option?

Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
No option to make permenent is disappointing.

Just wondering whether it was himself that stopped that and just using us to keep his WC chances up as no one else seemed interested.

If he does well he can then grab a pay day deal from the highest bidder. If he does shit then we lose anyway.

Maybe, maybe wrong, but just a thought.

How people think that a new goalkeeper isn't a priority is beyond me.

It's a fucking great signing and needed every bit as much as a striker.

The defence will be so much more confident with Hart behind them.

Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
This will piss off both Adrian and Randolph. Neither will settle for 3rd choice and neither will settle for 2nd choice with no chance of displacing Hart unless injured. Hart has not been brought in to sit on the bench either. Basically we are saying neither A or R are good enough, so what happens when Hart leaves at the end of the loan?

Stupid signing on stupid wages and stupid conditions.

Glad we got Hart, good keeper and the opportunity was there and we took it.

Strikers are still priority though and lets hope good business in this area of the team does not impact where we need investment most.

Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
The thing with Adrian is that we have such a good rapport with him. He clearly loves us too - he's just one that we've connected with. So when it comes to replacing him - something that plenty were calling for during last season and before - it rankles with some. Even more because replacing him was hardly top priority in comparison to a striker. And even more with someone that is perceived to be error-prone.

But the cold, hard fact is that Joe Hart is miles better than Adrian. Sad for us Adrian fans, but he is. He's a brilliant signing.

Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
If he has sorted his head out - great. He WAS the best English keeper.

Don't think he had a dandruff problem, but it looked similar.

I would have gone for Buckland, Pickford or preferably Schmeichel.

Re: BBC confirm interest in Joe Hart - - Signed. season - long loan
I think we should sell both Adrian and Randolph. With Prem experience they could both command a fee, and we can just get some grizzled pro in alongside our yoot keepers.
